Imagine a world with no Steve Jobs.
Picture the scene, Steve Jobs walks into your office for an interview. He’s wearing a black polo neck and jeans, when you feel it’s been made clear to him that your dress code is a shirt.
He’s awkward, doesn’t make eye contact and goes off on tangents as he speaks passionately about things you’re not quite keeping up with.
Although you all agree he had a certain quality, you just think there was something ‘off’ about him - perhaps slightly untrustworthy.
Well, guess what - you just missed out on the guy that would go on to change the world, and give you something to do when you’re hiding from the kids on the loo, because you allowed social conditioning and bias to tell you that he’s not right, because he doesn’t act like the rest of the team.
Neuroinclusion in the work place isn’t about being seen to ‘do the right thing’, it’s about building world-changing businesses.
The truth is, there will be people on your team, or in your business that are suffering in silence, impacting their happiness at work, and contributing to your absenteeism, and worse still - presenteeism.
It is estimated that between 2.5% and 4.4% of the UK adult population have ADHD, more surprising yet is that most people with ADHD are undiagnosed. This means that up to 1.5 million adults in the UK may have ADHD. (ADHDUK)
There will be people hiding signs of burnout, needing time off, and even leaving if they don’t feel able to discuss their neurodivergence for risk of being penalised in some way.

Following my late diagnosis of ADHD in 2020, I set about changing my business and life for the better.
The goal was to create a business where I had energy left to enjoy my life.
For me, that looked like selling my digital marketing agency, and creating a slower, more intentional life, with one difference - this time, armed with the knowledge I now had about how it worked - I put my brain first.
